Steven Silverstein's Right On, an abstract photographic work on paper (below) is one of two works in the I See You exhibition at the historic State Capitol building in Austin, Texas from January 10 to June 10, 2015. The exhibit, which recognizes human and civil rights in artistic expression, runs concurrent with the 50th Anniversary of the national Voting Rights Act of 1965.
The name of the exhibition, "I See You," is a tribute to the African greeting "Sawa Bona," which acknowledges our shared human connection and celebrates our collective existence. Silverstein is the sole photographic artist in the exhibit, among five other artists, who were honored in a Senate resolution. Read more about the resolution here.
