2nd Anniversary of an Unexpected Direction

In mid-2013, Steven Silverstein began a new artistic exploration that took him in "an unexpected direction" photographing abstractions in-camera. They are not created with digital software, close-up lenses, or chemical processes. For nearly six months after his initial discovery, he worked through it daily, nearly obsessed with the possibilities, before his first abstract work on rag paper came to life. This post is a 2nd anniversary celebration of that leap into unexplored territory, and a tribute to the first and several additional works on cotton rag. Cotton is, after all, the traditional 2nd anniversary symbol.
